old advertisement
back in the days when the malay language wasn't the national language, the country used english as the main language. these are some old adverts i stumbled on youtube. i find it kind of amusing because the voice of the narrator in the adverts made me thought that, hey, is this advertisement meant to be aired in malaysia? because halfway watching the advert i thought i was watching an oversea's advertisement!
things were so different back then. i've put newer versions of the adverts for comparisons too. big difference isn't it?
smoking advertisement? O.o....it's ban in malaysia now, really, smoking makes you successful huh? and the brand 555 makes me think of the small notebooks rather than cigarettes.
the first add was really funny because the lyrics of the song really went with the video. and look how old is the design of the car! really, are tv adds that interesting back in the days?
on another note,i can't get anymore glass bottles of fizzy drinks like zappel anymore. it's a pity because me thinks it gives whatever drink that's in it an extra edge. but it's kind of dirty because they recycle the glass bottles, and from my memory the recycled glass bottles would have worn out printed labels . :s
there's no drive detergent anymore here in malaysia, but they used a really cute concept! and the part: "Doctors agree Guiness is good for inducing healthy sleep, as a tonic after illness and during pregnancy" really made me laugh! i didn't know that beer advertisement was allowed back in the days (now there's a ban on adverts on alcohols)
and i think the coca cola advert now is better than the old ones :)
