i want to be inspired
clearly, being bombarded by a pile of assignments is not helping me think.
am i taking this as an excuse? i don't really know :(
yesterday at studio we were discussing about a resort budget hotel project, and almost all of us thought of placing resort in a scenic place, near a beach or somewhere far from the city with scenic view.
then the lecturer was talking about placing a resort in an urban setting. THEN i felt like a brick just hit my head. because clearly, i wasn't thinking out of the box. wait, i should rephrase. i haven't think out of the box for some time. things revolutionize. are we going to keep how a resort looks like from 50 years ago? cars that have the same name, like a honda accord from 50 years ago is different now!
bang!, that got me thinking again.
and this video made me wish i had a studio that huge, and equip with the latest and cool 3d laser printer.imagine how fun model making will be by then! the studio we have now opens on a timetable.*gasp* initially it was opened 24 hours with air conditioned, and then the air conditioned was rationed, where it'll be automatically switch off from 12am, but strangely enough the settings keep switching off the a/c earlier an hour every couple of months. and now, the faculty has decided to limit the usage of studios because they want to cut cost on the electricity bills. i'm ok with switching off the air conditioning entirely *for the purpose of cost cutting* but limiting students usage of the studios? that's way demoralizing. maybe some people just don't get it, but i rest my case. i do hope that things will get better, or maybe we shouldn't rely on studio's to do design work and discussions anymore?
