opps i think i changed my hairstyle

i have been longing to perm my hair for a very long time. not the soft curly waves, but the really big and curly ones. the reason? for an asian i have unusually thick and curly hair. most of my friends have naturally thin and straight hair, which made me envious. because for me, having a different hair type means that i can't change my hairstyle anyway i like it. i can't just go to a hair salon to get a hair cut. for the longest time i have been tying my hair up in a poney tail because i can't let my hair down or risk looking like a mushroom/cabbage head.
i was extremely frustrated. even with rebonding (a straightening process of the hair) , my hair would be straight, but still the thickness is a pain in the ass. layering my hair wasn't an option because in truth, it doesn't help at all. it wasn't easy that till now i haven't found a hairstylist that knows how to handle my hair.
so a few weeks ago i've permed it into a pseudo afro hair, because i figure if i can't tame the hair i might as well let it be what it is, just magnified. do i like the result? hmm, i can't say, but i do feel more confident roaming around in a mop of unkept hair, hey, at least i have a reason now! (hehe). people stared, but i told myself, hey, this is me with
my hair. the first week wasn't easy, i felt like hiding in my room. but as time past i feel as if i've gotten a little more comfortable being in my new hair.
having a new hair style (albeit an unsual one) made me realize i've got to be stronger for my hair. oh yes i did spent a lot on the new hair do , and i'm keeping it. i haven't even tell my parents! tee hee, i wonder how would they react ...
and if you're wondering if i can wash my hair, the answer is yes. this is not the other kind of perm where you can't wash your hair regularly. :)
I love your nails.
