oh, pretty things!

let me introduce you to the designer that i've just found out on the internet, mr bruce munro.

say hi! :)

anyway he's a designer that does fantastic art installations (correct me if i'm wrong), but here's a special mention to him because his works are just breathtakingly beautiful.

here's a picture of one of his many works, done in 2009, titled " Field of Light". how appropriate! anyway the installation consist of 6000 (!) acrylic tubes containing optical fibers, and is inspired by the dessert flowers after a rainstorm.

here's how the whole installation looks like at night time.

oh i want my garden to look like this. very romantic and dreamy, no?

recently, he made another installation too, which is in Wiltshire field in the UK. and the whole installation is composed by using CD's only! titled CD sea, this installation uses 600,000 CD's.

Munro managed to collect all the CDs' by appealing to the people through the radio, and on installation day itself, 140 people came to layout the design over the weekend.

the design in process..

laying out the CD's...

the material is really simple, but the effect is very pretty isn't it?

little girls jumping around. if i were them i would be doing so already! :)

the installation is very people friendly as the community actually help and contributed during the installation process, which should be the way. and the best thing is you can skip/run/jump/walk through the field of CD's and enjoy the whole aura that it gives you. oh why can't we have this in malaysia?

blingy CD's...

anyway i'll be going to the archidex on 3rd july at klcc. do say hello! :)

later ;p
