penang part 2

continuing from the previous post, here's more photo's from the khoo kongsi's temple. this temple has tons  of beautiful carvings.

there's a wall in there that has sketches of deities done in erm, removable materials, maybe? because the drawings from the upper part look as if it was wiped off...

the temple has it's own museum at the side. and the khoo clan has a society that protects and perserve thier family tree. here you can find the history of how their ancestors came from china to malaysia.

and yes this temple is part of UNESCO'S world heritage.

too bad we can't see for ourselves how pretty the temple looks like at night. they close at 5.30pm :(

chinese middle names! hmmm, how do i even describe this. *it''s a really long story* chinese families has a gynecology book where they write down all of the family name, and normally a big family has a name that they use to name a child in every generation. by doing so, the family members will be able to know which generation that they are from because all of them from the same generation would have the same middle name.

yes! anna and the king was filmed at this temple!

old barber shop!

old houses. look at how tiny their gates are!

believe it or not we actually got lost while walking around little india. but the good thing was we walk past all of the old and quaint shophouses so although we ended up tired and exhausted, it was a pretty good time for me. ;)

the logo's hope ship.

straits quay! i love that they place all the restaurants near to the quay because the night view is just lovely.

finally i'm done with posting all the penang pictures. :)

i'm currently back in school, and it hasn't been a week but assignments are already pouring in like the monsoon rain. :(  don't get me wrong, i love all my assignments *cough* but to be bombarded by them on the first week? you get the drill.

and my beloved nerdy spectacles had to go mia on the day i travel to skudai. it's true you know, the saying about you won't miss something till you've lost it. my eyesight is still considered ok, but having my eyeglasses with me makes me assured that if i'll be needing it, it's always by my side. now i'll have to wait and see if it resurfaces at home or else i'll have to get a new pair. :(

i miss my glasses. :(

oh nerdy glasses, where art thou?
