my little beauty review

i love sales. it makes me buy more and thinking that i'm actually saving on money! yikes! anyway, etude house ( the korean beauty brand) is having a sale right now, and some items are up for grabs for 50% off! so if you're a great fan of their beauty product, i'll say go grab your stash now!!

anyway here's what i picked up at the store, a mask and a liquid eyeliner. i've never use their mask before, and i felt a little bit apprehensive into buying too many just in case my skin is sensitive to their products. (i've learnt my lesson from the beauty diary, the popular taiwanese mask, i bought so many of them but end up giving them to friends because my skin is kind of sensitive to it, as red spots will appear after i apply the mask, boo! )

here's a picture of the mask i bought, in rose and lotus scent.

the scent of the mask is just amazing and soothing! i think the only flaw of this product is there's no instruction on which is the front or back of the mask. i end up using both sides (!). and no, i'm not going to post a picture of me wearing the mask, it's so scary!

so here's the verdict: i'll definitely be buying this mask again!! my skin felt just so soft and moisturized, especially when the kl weather is so hot and dry lately.

oh m'eye liner by etude house, in silver color
i love eyeliners, especially the liquid ones. who said liquid eyeliner is difficult to use? personally i feel people who said that never really tried using them before. anyways, this bottle of delight is from etude house also, in a shade of subtle, but shimmery dark silver color, good for day and night wear. they have 3 shades (black, brown and dark silver) and i love all the 3 shades actually, because all of the shades are thick in color, unlike the other ones that i've tried before, which are more diluted and bland.

although this is not a waterproof eyeliner, it actually stays! normally when i wear it in the morning it's still pretty when i come back home at night, with no touch ups! well unless you go and rub your eyelids that's a whole different story.

the applicator is very important too. this one is smooth and has a narrow brush, with a long handle so it's extremely easy to apply and to control the brush! argh you seriously have to try it out to know what i'm talking about here!

if you're a frequent liquid eyeliner user (those non waterproof ones) you'll know the eyeliner will either smear, or flake off, but this baby doesn't! see why i love this product? i regret not buying it earlier!!

plus it's easy to wash it off. i don't use eye makeup remover (unlike the other eyeliners, which can't be washed off because it'll leave black smeared stains around your eyes), i just rub it off my eyelids when i bath, and it comes out clean without leaving any stains, yay!!

the verdict? this is by far the best eyeliner that i've come across. i'm buying myself another bottle just because i'm afraid it might be out of stock because of the on going sale!

yup in the month of may i bought myself 2 bottle of eyeliner already. for me it's very important not to use any unknown brand as i'm applying this thing to my eyelids and i get all paranoid that if i use some unknown brand my eyes might get infected or something, so naturally i chose maybelline, which was a big dissapointment!!!

here's the eyeliner, liquid, and non water-proof
the color is ok, but the applicator is pretty hard to use, because of the design i guess, it's shape like a traditional chinese brush, but it's hard at the edges, making it difficult to apply on the eyelids evenly!

after applying (to me it take ages to apply because i can't get it all even out) it dries off and flakes! you can't really go layers on it, because by applying new layers to the old one it'll end up pulling off the old layer of eyeliner bit by bit, which is annoying and not user friendly.

the verdict? nope i'm not going back to you again, maybelline.
