the past few weeks has been a roller coaster ride for me. the semester holidays was so long the people at my mum's shop has been wondering whether i have drop out of university or have graduated. once again people, i'm on a semester break!  i had agree to help mum out by opening a stall at the ramadhan bazaar since i was hoping to earn a little money to survive for the trip to penang in september and to vietnam next february. (yes, i work hard for money and i know how hard is it for money to come).

it was exhausting. and the heat! man, although being your own boss is fun and all but the people i've met...it's a spectrum of them! funny people, weird people, really nice people, and some are just down right rude or nasty. but hey, from what i learn customers are always number one. 

business was quite good to the point where i have to abandon my humble little stall to help mum on the hampers when orders start piling up. it's the first time we started accepting orders for hampers, and the response has been overwhelming, and we are very grateful for that. for my part, i didn't expect them to be so heavy! wrapping them has been a ton of work. and it's just mum and me wrapping  them and we had to sacrifice sleeping time to get the orders through. man did our back ache after we finished the final order. the living room looked like a battlefield, and we had so many cookies for the hampers it could probably feed the kids of africa.

that's the happy, tired, and crazy part. while wrapping the hampers i got news that my uncle fell down from the stairs and fractured his bone. mum was hiding the fact from grandmama until dad insisted on breaking the news to her thru the phone (he was in kuantan at that time). chaos ensues, because at that time my uncle was shifting his shop to the one at my mum's place. to cut the story short, he had tons of things waiting for him to do but he ends up in the hospital because of the fracture bone. the hamper wrapping had to be push aside for a while, and i have been the unofficial driver to the hospital. suddenly it feels likes submission time again where i'm on autopilot mode and literally looked like a zombie. 

my uncle was in so much pain the doctors gave him morphine. the casing/whatever you call it was so huge!! they give you around 45ml of morphine and you press a button for a 5ml shot if there's pain (but the machine will limit the dosage to 5 minutes once) and my uncle was trying to not depend on it but he later found out that if he doesn't use it the nurses will take it away, so he ends up using it for a few days, and the nurses took it away eventually because they were afraid he might depend on it. the joke in the family was we were laughing at how my uncle would get high on the morphine. but seriously, it's really mild, that's what he said!

so anyway, with a few screws and metal plates in his lower feet my uncle is now at my house recuperating. i'm not complaining at this arrangement, but things are so messy right now it's just crazy. with raya holidays around the corner and countless orders for custom made flower arrangements and things to sort out i sometimes wonder if we have too much on the plate. for me it's just a  little tough time for the family where suddenly everything has to come to a halt and things that has been planned need to be re-planned. i had to positi-fy (if there's ever such a word ) by telling myself that it's just another hurdle He has given me and the family  to overcome and learn at the end of it. needless to say i still haven't recover from all the late nights, but i have to say mum has been a rock all these days, and i worry about her lack of sleep because, the main reason my uncle fell in the first place is because he was so tired he misplaced his feet and fell. 

gosh. i noticed how adults are so preoccupied by work, and they work really hard to earn more money, and i understand that they do this for the best of the family but still, nothing beats your own health. money always comes after health, ok?

health and happiness are always greater than money/wealth. please remember that.
